Its been a few month’s since the official release of the Terminal app and it has finally started to move in the direction it was promised to be. Hope you enjoyed reading this and surely think about giving it a try here. Overall, Windows Terminal app is a great package from Microsoft for developers and i hope to see more features added over time.

you can find more about configuring how to here. The fourth thing is, if you enabled windows sub-system for Linux you can simply run a Linux system from shell as native app. It’s just a matter of editing a JSON file and it will immediately reflect into the app. The Third thing that attracted me is, how easy it is to add a new configuration. (From the screen-shot you can see, i have Git-bash, Windows power-shell and CMD open all at the same time & in a single app! pretty cool!) You can open as much tabs as you can.(Until it won’t eat-up all your system resources :P ). The Second, promising thing about the app is “Multi-Tabs”. The First thing that grabbed my attention was, the ability to customize it as you want, you can basically set fonts, background image, text characters, symbols support, transparency effects, ability to use shortcut’s and what not… So, after going thought feature set promises, i thought about giving it a shot and here we are… The Terminal will also need to meet our goals and measures to ensure it remains fast, and efficient, and doesn’t consume vast amounts of memory or power. It includes many of the features most frequently requested by the Windows command-line community including support for tabs, rich text, globalization, configurability, theming & styling, and more. Windows Terminal is a new, modern, feature-rich, productive terminal application for command-line users. Here is how what Microsoft described it :

Microsoft has recently released “Terminal” app that promised, an improved command line experience to its users (for now, it is available only on Windows 1903 build So if you are not running one, just update the windows and head over to windows store to grab it!) and the result is really appreciable. Software development is fun when you have the right tools to play with. Microsoft Terminal Source : Grab from official Teaser ( )
